First Responder Systems & Technology was formed in 2001 to build HazSensor, a device that is capable of remotely detecting, identifying and quantifying industrial chemicals and chemical-based Hazards. During design and testing of the HazSensor device, it was determined that there was a great need for other software products designed to assist first responders in their mission. FiRST soon began to market two new software products, HazGuide Chemical Explorer, and Respondware mapping and mobile response software, to fire and emergency medical services. Those two software projects are now commercially available to the public safety industry nationwide.

TSB Ventures, LLC (TSB), A Louisiana based venture investment company, acquired the assets of First Responder's Systems and Technology in early 2008, and will continue to support the needs of the First Responder community. Hazguide Software Solutions, LLC, a new company formed with Data Transfer Solutions of Orlando, Florida, will continue to develop the HazGuide family of products and will market HazGuide nationwide.
